Donate your Toys for a Good Cause

Many households especially those who have a big family accumulate lots of toys throughout the years. There are baby toys and even toddler toys that are still stocked on your basement or kid’s room which are left unused over the years accumulating dust and dirt. Instead of letting these toys rot in your rooms, why don’t you just give them to charity institutions where kids have only limited toys. This way, you are not only disposing these toys which your kids don’t use anymore but you are also putting a lot of smile to kid’s faces on these institutions.

Donating toddler toy and even clothes and foods to the needy is a good charity act. You don’t need to buy new ones for them. You could just look at your house and examine what are those things that you don’t need anymore but are still usable. There are so many people not only in your state but other countries as well that need these things. You can go to various centers or to your United Nations office in your country in order to know where you could send these things.

If you have kids, you can also teach them the value of helping those who are in need. Tell them that a lot of kids don’t have their own toddler educational toys to play with or that have insufficient clothes. You are not only teaching them the value of empathy but you are also emphasizing to them to decide how they could help these kids. If they have lots of toys already, maybe you could advise them to spare one of their toys and donate it for a good cause. Explain to them how they would be a great help to the community.

Starting a family activity such as donating kids toys toddler and other things every Thanksgiving every year would leave a good impression to your kids. You are not only having a traditional activity that will bond your family but at the same time, you are helping lots of needy people.

You can also organize in your community a gift giving project wherein you could ask your neighbors to donate their unique toddler toys, clothes and even some canned goods to the needy and bring it to these centers who facilitates the distributions of donated goods. With this activity, you are teaching to your community the value of sharing and at the same time imparting to them the knowledge that lots of people and kids are underprivileged. Hence, by giving importance and value to money, they would be able to appreciate more of what they have.

Helping people is one of the best things that may happen in your life. You don’t need to do a lot of things or even spend money in order to help. By giving your used toys or clothes, you can make lots of kids to smile. Encourage your family to continue helping people and you will realize that you are making a big impact on your community.
